the scotland college of chiropractic to open in september 2023

The Board of Trustees of the Scotland College of Chiropractic Charitable Trust and the Senior Management Team of the Scotland College of Chiropractic (SCC), are delighted to announce that it has been agreed that our proposed chiropractic degree programme can move forwards to Stage 4 of the approval process with the General Chiropractic Council, which is an Approval Visit to the campus in Edinburgh.

As a result of this exciting news, we have made the decision to open the admissions process in May to recruit our first cohort of students (subject to final approval) to begin their studies in September 2023.

More information will follow as we test our processes before they go live.  Please look out for updates via email and on the SCC’s Facebook page, and the launch of the College's new website.

the scotland college of chiropractic degree programme approved by university partner

The Board and team at the SCC Trust have been working extremely hard in the past few weeks as we accelerate towards what we hope will be our opening to students later in 2022. In order to open our doors, the SCC must satisfy accreditation criteria set by the regulator, the General Chiropractic Council (GCC), and be approved by the validating body, Buckinghamshire New University (BNU). Documentation was submitted to the GCC in December in order for the GCC to assess our institution. We hope to be able to pass these next stages with the GCC in the next few weeks.

On 16th February, we took part in the Approval Process and Validation event with representatives of BNU where our programme was scrutinised and we were asked questions on all aspects of our institution including teaching provision, student support, campus development, and resources. We are delighted to announce that the SCC has been approved subject to small conditions being met. Our degree is now validated and can be taught to chiropractic students. This is a huge success for the SCC and allows us to plan with more certainty over the next few months to welcome our future chiropractors.
